Don't burn it!

In this chapters getting close to the end of the book some important things happened. While Kendra and Ian were following the path that get to the cave where Pj and O'Dea were some zombies find them but for some strange reason the zombies just couldn't pass trought the path, it was like a force field that the old lady had made. As they get ahead of the slow zombies they find in a side of the path a grave yard with stones in each one, in one of them seated a dream catcher which for some reason Ian couldn't resist to get. After Kendra told him to do not do it he still did and at first nothing happened but moments later the ground started moving, more zombies camed out of those graves and the most important, the path wasn't a force field anymore. They runed uphill to the cave and when they got there, there she was the old "witch" with some big sticks in her hand. Ian and Kendra still didn't know that she was good but they treated her bad demanding her friend Pj who was inside the cave. They threaten her that if she did t have him Pj they would burn the dream catcher which when the old lady saw she went nuts telling them that they made a horrible mistake and that consequences would come. After discussing and discussing they were here, the zombies had got there and pj appeared confused for the moaning of the zombies not knowing what to do with everyone yelling she dropped the dream catcher in the fire. In a matter of a second the zombies stopped mowing and the old lady yelled at Kendra what have you done! You've set them free. The zombies started running not walking clumsy like before, running! See that dream catcher was the only thing that kept the zombies to leave homeroom earth and now they were able to go anywhere they wanted. The "witch" was the one that created that for them to stay in this strange place that the people who died were made zombies. They had to came up with a plan to stop the zombies from getting to the city so they started brainstorming.

This is how a dream catcher looks like.

While reading I found this interesting quote about Ian and Kendra.

"You okay" "sorry just trying to help I didn't mean to grab you too hard"
She smiles bites her lips and says " that was....really......."
"It's okay" I tell her "I'm here" then I remember that I'm angry at her.

This is when a zombie tried to get Kendra but Ian grave her by the hips and pulled her and I don't know but I think they have like a crush on each other.

Another quote that caught my attention was the following.

I hold up the dream catcher "something tells me she'll give us everything we want and more if we threatened to destroy this.

This part is when they both were considering to threaten O 'dea which they did. I did t waned them to do that since I knew it wouldn't led to something good.

I'm really really exited to see how this next chapters are and I really want to know  what the plan to stop the zombies is. I hope everything works in that place because if not they're all In big trouble.

Run!

A lot of things have happened in this last chapters but I don't want to tell every detail so I'm going to make it short. After finding that diary who belonged to one of the people that disappeared it talked about how this old woman who was spying on the pine city dancers when they decided to stay in that cabin and it said a lot of weird things about her, calling her a witch, stealing their food and all those things . After reading some pages of this diary the three kids realized that the things that were happening to them were also happening to those people as the diary tells, such as that weird noise Ian had heard when the Lynx was going to attack him. After reading some pages one of them realized there was something out there in the woods. It was a human shape and the three of the kids got really scared but then they realized there was a lot more than one, that they were coming towards them and that they weren't humans. Pj Camden to the conclusion they were zombies and in fact they were. Apparently Pj knew a lot about zombies so he told Kendra to make a torch to scare them and in just a blink of an eye there were the zombies just meters away from the cabin so while Ian and Pj tried to stop them at the door Kendra tried to scare them by the window but it wasn't working at the end they couldn't he much longer so the zombies camed in and they made their way out screaming while pushing the zombies to get outside. As surprised as I was they did got out and after running away from the cabin for hours in the rain they stopped at a rock to rest but it wasn't long until a zombie camed, the three of them managed to not to scape but to kill the zombie by pushing an old tree towards the zombie, the zombie got crushed and they got saved. Before leaving Kendra noticed that the zombie had some type of ID in her neck like a collar. When she took it from the zombie it happened to be that the zombie they killed was one of the pine city dancers who disappeared and also the diary written. After talking and talking in the same place more zombies started approaching to them so they decided to go up the mountain so it would be more difficult for the zombies tiger them, Pj still had his ankle badly injured but that was their best option at the moment. While hiking up the mountain Pj was just getting his injury worse. At one point when they thought they were safe from the zombies but the zombies camed and they had to climb a huge rock that had branches in it so Kendra and Ian climbed it easily but Pj as hard as he tried he couldn't climb and as much as  Ian was telling him that he could he just couldn't because of his ankle. Pj falled and hurt his ankle even more, the zombies were approaching and Ian and Kendra needed to hide fast before the zombies knew were they were. Ian wanted to go down and help Pj but Kendra didn't let him. Couple of minutes past and when they both stopped hearing the noises of the zombies they both started crying. After Kendra calmed down Ian about the lost of his friend Kendra went to check the perimeter to check there were no more zombies and Ian went to see his dead friend. When he went down the rock Pj wasn't there and if the zombies didn't catch hem then where was he!? Ian found Pj little video camera which he was using to record this hole journey being lost in the woods. When he got it there was some strange footage the footage of someone dragging Pj by he's feet while he was knocked out by that fall. Ian was shocked and tremendously happy that he's friend was alive he called Kendra and they both realized that the person who had took him went on a path a secret one behind the rock. Things change when PJ wakes up to breakfast served by the old lady!! At that point I didn't trusted her but when they both had a long talk I ended up liking her. She cured Pj ankle and she was the one making those weird sounds while the Lynx tried to attack Ian and in other occasions  too! All this time that the three kids felted someone or something was watching them it was her! The old lady and when the pine city dancers said that someone was watching them in the window it was her! And calling her a witch they were wrong since she actually does real magic as a gift that she has and she used it to cure Pj! Pj was worried about his friends but they were all ready on their way to the old lady's cave. He knew cause the old lady had kind of seen it in her head. This chapters have been the best.

There was a really interesting part in the book which I really liked, it's the following.

"People!" I yelled "We're saved!"
"Wait," warns Ian
"The school must've sent a rescue team!" Y yell at Pj "See there's no need to panic"
"Kendra" says Ian, his face drained of all color, "I don't think that's a rescue team." He points out the window, his hands shaking. Pg 168

This is the point when the three kids are in the cabin and they realized those "people" weren't a rescue team but zombies, that's when Pj started saying all the things he knew about zombies, I really liked this part

There was another part that caught my attention and that I really liked, it's the following.

"My friends are still out there!" " we need to find them before the zombies do"
The old woman raises the two sticks over her head and hits them together three times TOK TOK TOK
"Sounds like your friend might not need our help" "They just find the path themselves. They're on their way." Pg207

This is the part when Pj wanted to o look for his friends but the old woman did he's magic and somehow knew they were on their way, I really liked this part because its the part when I realized that the sounds that the kids used to hear in the woods when something bad was happening.

For my final thoughts I just want to say I really enjoyed reading this last chapters since it felt like I was actually there with them and I also felt all the adrenaline all the fear and all. I think that when Ian and Kendra get to the old woman and to Pj their going to attack her because they still think she's a witch and everything.

Here's a picture of how I imagine the old woman.

Big findings

In this few next chapters a lot of things happened, Some really shocking things. After getting lost in the woods the two boys (PJ and Ian) ask "queen brain" for help to get back to the camp since she had a map and a compass. After walking for many hours to get to the camp at the end they got to nowhere and realized that they were going to sleep in the woods that night so before the sun went out they looked for a good and nice open place to sleep. After they had done that they decided to start a fire to keep warm and to cook some noodles that Kendra had in her backpack. After taking a long time starting the fire and figuring out how to cook the noodles the sun was already hiding when they heard a weird noise over the bushes they were all really scared even Ian who had said he "wasn't scared" after. The weird noise happen to be a Lynx that wanted to eat them so they ruined and runed until they didn't heard the big animal. After everyone had calmed down Ian went back to the fireplace to turn off the fire to prevent a forestall fire and on the way pick up some granola bars that Kendra had in her backpack but had fallen while running. When Ian went to turn down the fire he meet with the Lynx once again but the animal runed away after hearing a really big and weird noise from another animal so Ian got scared too and runed away. He came back to Kendra and Pj to find out that pj had fall and he got hurt badly. Some minutes later they found a cabin, a cabin in the middle of the woods. They decided to get in it since it had started rainin and a lot. After entering this cabin they found that it had a heater and electricity but besides that it was really old. It had electricity but not a phone which was kind of strange. After looking the little cabin for food which they didn't find they found some blankets and pillows which Pj immediately used since he was so tired and same with Kendra. But not Ian, Ian since the beginning had a bad feeling about this cabin since for him it was really strange to see a cabin in the middle of the woods. His curiosity for the cabin led him to open a door which led to a basement he woke up Kendra and both went down with matches but to find something that would change everything... They found the same symbol that they found on the big wall and in the middle of the symbol they found a pile, a pile of bones. And after all of that drama and the screams and everything they found a diary. A diary who's owner was one of the people who disappear and were never heard of again, one of the pine city dancers.

Here's how I imagined those pile of bones.

This chapters were extremely interesting and there was a point in the story in which I had a connection to. The quote is the following.

"My stomach whirls. My face feels damp and cold. Slowly, my head falls back into the leaf-covered grass. I groan unable to calm down, stuck in a rush of panic."

As soon as I read this I had a connection from when I broke my wrist and I felt just like Pj did, it was an awful experience but I liked that I was able to relate with Pj in the story.

Another quote that caught my attention is  the following.

"You all right, man? You scared?" "Yeah" I say with a shrug " kind of. We just didn't planed for this is all, aren't you?" "Nah!" He says just quick enough to let me know he means yes.

This quote made me think about Ian and how he was trying to look like tough in this difficult situation that they were in. For me he was just trying to be manly around Kendra or something.

After reading this extreamly interesting chapters I just wanted to read more and more to see what was going to happen next but I think you'll have to see it in my next blog. I predict that at the end the bones that they found were from the pine city dancers.

First thoughts on summer book

The book Gravediggers Mountain of Bones by Christopher Krovatin which is the book I picked for summer is the exact type of book I usually like to read. This book is about the story of three kids Ian, Pj and Kendra who happen to be in the same group of a 3 day school visit to Homeroom Earth. This school visit to this park which is full of trees and mountains and animals and vegetation was planned to do with this kids grade the year before but it happened that there was a "bug infestation" but the truth is that some people actually got lost and they closed the park for some time. The thing is no one knew what happened to them. The three kids are in this hike along with a guide and other students when a the  protagonists (the three kids) get lost after following a deer. When they realized they were lost they got a map to try to figure out where was the camp and when they thought they knew they head there but only to find that the park is starting to get a little strange since they start having the feeling that they are being watched and that some type of creature is following them after discovering an ancient steel wall with some strange symbols and a particular smell. As far as right now I'm enjoying this book a lot.

While reading the book I found an interesting quote about Kendra Which helped me asume what type of person she is. The quote was the following.

"According to my field guide to Montana Animal and Plant life, there are fifteen species of owl that are native to the mountain ranges." Pg16

This quote got me thinking and i started knowing that Kendra is the typically girl that has to know everything including the fact that Ian calls her queen brain.

I happened to find another quote about Kendra which teached me more about her. The quote is the following.

"It's all my mom and dad could talk about before this trip. Make some friends . Real friends. Friends you can do stuff with, who can come over after school. It's not hard-just walk up to them and be yourself. Your so smart and funny!"pg23

After reading this I discovered that she has problems making friends and that her parents are worried so that's why they talked about that with her in the first place.

After reading my first chapters in this book I happened to really like it since is the type of book that I like and also that I am really excited to know the other characters better as I do know with Kendra. My prediction to what will happen next on the book as my final thoughts is that the three of them are going to find something really shocking that will turn the story of the book. I'm really looking forward to keep reading the book.

Here's a picture of how I imagine Kendra.
