Last Chapters!

This last chapters started with some news that werent so pleasant. Arnolds Grandmother passed away. She was hit by a drunk driver in a truck. Her last words were "forgive him". Arnold and his family did but he still was sent to prision for 8 months. Pages later we found out Eugene, Arnolds dad best friend also died. He was shot in the head while drunk with a friend of him on a seven eleven. They fought for the last drink and hes friend accidentaly shot him. Because of all this Arnold made a lot of drawings and got really depressed. He missed a lot of school. Basketball season camed and Arnold as always vomited before a game because he was nervouse. But this time it was different, they were playing against Wellpinit. They won last time and this game decided who went to the playoffs and who didnt. Well long story short because of Arnold the Reardan team won by 40 points! They were going to the playoffs! Well Arnold wasnt really exited as his teamates were, he was ashamed. He looked at his dads face and he wasnt so pleased. Arnold realized that he made his original team loss and now Rowdys dad was going to beat him of because they loosed . Arnold just cried, not of joy but of shame. When the season ended Arnold emailed Rowdy saying sorry. What happened next actually shocked me, Arnold has been to 42 funerals and his only 14 years old. But the worst is that in this last chapters her sister Mary died. Arnold took this in a really weird way, he laughed and laughed and laughed without stopping. He also vomited while his dad picked him up to go to the funeral. He saw Rowdy there and he tried to talk to him but Rowdy tried to punch him while crying. But the only thing Arnold did was laugh. After that Rowdy told him how it was all his fault that she died and then raned away. Arnold had never seen him ran from anything. Every indian that died in his rezervtaion was mainly because of drinking. Arnold and his parents days later went to the cementery to make a picnic and to clean Eugenes, grandmother and Mary graves. They went there and all Arnold did was cry. He also just wanted to hug Rowdy and be friends with him again. The book starts ending with Arnold telling an old story of him and Rowdy back when they were little and how they had so much fun. Well the story finally ends with Rowdy finally talking to Arnold. He went to his house and asked him if he wanted to shoot some hoops, Arnold accepts. Arnold tried to convince Rowdy to go with him to Reardan but he didnt want to. Rowdy tells him how he had this dream where Arnold was in china and they start cryin saying how he would miss everybody. The book ends with them playing basketball and not keeping the score.

"Rowdy and i played one on one for hours. We played until dark. We played until the streetlights lit up the court. We played until the moon was huge and golden and perfect in the dark sky."

We can see here how in the last part of the book Rowdy and Arnold finally got along and they played for a very long period of time. I really liked this part.

"I rolled around on the cold, frozen ground and laughed and laughed and laughed."

This was after Rowdy tried to punch him and ran away on her sisterss funeral. Arnold was really crazy that day, full of different emotions and thoughts.

The book ended! It was a really fun experience reading this book. I enjoyed every moment of it. I can say that this is actually my favorite book until now. I recomend this book for everyone that likes suspense and diary type of books. I am looking fowad to read more books like this on my engkisg class.

Her new friend...

I found extreamly interesting this last chapters and i will tell you why. In a class Arnold got bored and he went to the bathroom. Thats when he heard vomiting noises coming from the girls bathroom. He wanted to know who was there but the girl told him to go away, he stayed to see who camed out and it was Penelope. It turns out she was bulimic. She wasnt anorexic but she told to Arnold that she isnt as perfect as everyone thinks she is, that she feels lonely and stuff. Long story short they became really good friends, you could even say they were a couple. Very fast Arnold became really popular and everyone new him. He started being more than friends with penelope so his racist dad intervined and told Arnold to get away from her. They also talk about their dreams and what they want to do when they grow up. The two of them really got along. Besides all this, Arnold missed Rowdy a lot. He didnt know what to do with his love for Penelope so he emailed Rowdy asking for advice but Rowdy was mad at him and it didnt help and then he tried to ask for help to Gordy and it didnt worked as well. During this chapters i found the meaning of the title, Arnold is a part-time indian becuase he goes to his reservation and back to reardan. Also in a part of the book Penelope found out that he is poor but she takes it really well. Her sister emails him and tells him about hes life. Later on he was accepted on the schools basketball team. Their first game was against Wellpinit high. When Arnold got there the crowd was jeering on him. He was thrown a coin at his head and a lot of lood started coming out so he couldnt play but eugene his fathers best friend puted stiches and he was able to come back to the court just to being punched by Rowdy and getting a concucion and ending in the hospital. I ended this last chapters knowing that Arnolds dad took the small amount of money that the family had and he decided to get drunk on christmas, he came back home days later with a hangover and 5 dollars as a gift for Arnold.
Image result for 5 dollar bill
"And then i noticed that the only indian who hadnt turned his back on me was Rowdy. He was standing on the other end of the court. He passed a basketball around his back, around his back, around his back, like a clock. And he glared at me."

This was before Rowdy knock him out on the floor. We can infer because of his actions that he was waiting pasiently for Arnold to get on the court so he could do something to him. I think that Rowdy overreacted about Arnold changing of school.

" I took a digital photo of my smiling face, and emailed it to Rowdy. A few minutes later, he emailed me a digital photo of his bare ass. I dont know when he snaped that pic"

I think that Rowdy is inmature, i think that he is like a bully. Arnold just sended him a picture of him smiling and he responded with a very discuting picture, that is not a very respectful way to respond.

A lot of things happened in this chapters and i enjoyed reading it. I really want to know what happens next with Rowdy and Arnold. I dont really think that Arnold will take revenge but you never know.

New school, New things happening

Well this next 7 chapters start with Juniors dad taking him to his new school in Reardan. He goes to the first day of school with a black eye from when Rowdy punched him and a garbage bag with his books and materials. In school he is givin hes ID, schedual and his homeroom by Melinda who was "hot for an old woman". He thought that she was pretty hot. In class he introduced himself by the name of Junior but the teacher said Arnold which was the first time we knew his other name. Kids laughed but he didnt care he just said that in that school he was Arnold and back home he as Junior. That was the class that he met Penelope. Not one week later and Arnold had already gotten in a fight because some kids bullied him calling him names so he just didnt stand it and he fought. He ´punched a kid named Roger which told Arnold that the fight between them wanst over. At that point Arnold wanted Rowdy to be with him so he can protect him but unfortunatly Rowdy hated him aswell. That day he saw her grandmother who was "always right" she told him that Roger wasnt going to fight back and that now Roger respected Arnold but Arnold just nodded and think she was crazy. The next morning Arnolds dad couldnt take him to school because the car didnt had enough gas so Arnold started walking the 22 miles to school. While walking to school Arnold ranned to Eugene who was his dads best friend who was always drunk and had a motorcycle. Eugene gave Arnold a ride to school. When he got there everyone saw that he got to school on a motorcycle and Roger saw it aswell. Roger didnt punched him that day, actually he talked to Arnold and nicely. Apparently grandma was right that Roger had respect for Arnold now. Junior tells us how he is really emotional when it comes to girls because he old us a story of a girl he loved 2 years before when he was 12 and how she didnt loved him. He started talking about all this since he has some feeling towards penelope that blonde girl of his class. In halween while making treat of treat to get some money 3 kids jumped him and spited on him and everything, they even took his money. The next day he told penelope about it and Penelope actually was worried and cared about Arnold. H e thought one of the kids that jumped him was probably Rowdy. After some lonley weeks for Arnold and the news that hes sister raned out to montana with some guy and that they got married Arnold met Gordy, a kid who have stuff in common with Arnold. They studied together a lot and became good friends quickly.

"They didnt beat me up too bad. I could tell they didnt wanted to put me on the hospital or anything, mostly they just wanted to remaind me that i was a traidor and that they wanted my money and candy."

This is the quote that explains better when the three kids with frankenstain masks jumped him. He said traidor because he changed of school and the people of his society didnt saw him the same way as before. I think that Arnold shouldev defended himself from those kids since he really needed that money and he wated all his time trick or tricking for nothing.

"I wished Rowdy was still my friend. i could have sent him aster Roger. It would have been like king kong battling Godzilla."

This is the night after Arnold punched that kid in the face. He was really scared of what the kid was going to do to him the next day so he was thinking how would it had been if Rowdy was still his friend. Arnold wanted Rowdy to be hes friend at that point but things had changed. He was taking for granted what he did.

This chapters were really fun and interesting to read. I want to know what happens next. I hope that Arnold makes some new friends besides Gordy. I predict that Arnold and Rowdy are somehow going to be friends again and their going to do some fun stuff. As of now im really liking this book.

The life of a Part time Indian kid

Im reading the book "The absolutely true diary of a Part time indian" by Sherman Alexie. First of i would like to say that i heard that this book was interesting let me tell you what has happned till now. Well the story starts of by the narrator being the principal character of the book. He explains who is he by telling you how he had too much fluids on his brain and doctors had to remove some and that caused him to be different than other kids. He has big feet, big arms, a really big head, some weird looking glasses and some bad teeth, and steel his very short. He takes advantage that hes introudicing himself so he aswell shows us hes love for drawing by making one of himself, He tells how he loves drawing so much and how he thinks it helps people to communicate. He draws all the time and he draws everything. Drawing is a big part of his life since he wants to be recognized by his drawings. Junior is poor, his family is poor and he lives in a poor communit called Wellpinit. He believes that with hes drawings he will get his family out of there. Junior talks about how KFC chicken is so important to him because he dosent get to eat it all the time because he is poor. He and his family have a dog called Oscar that is Juniors best friend he got sick and the family was too poor to cure him so to end his misery Juniors dad shot him with a gun, that devastated the kid. After that Junior intreduces his other human best friend called Rowdy who is kind of a tough guy, he always gets in fights and he always has a black eye. They went to a fair that the community had and some kids were bullying Junior so Rowdy punched them, thats when Junior realized that Rowdy was like his protector. Rowdys parents are alwasy drunk just like Juniors but Rowdys parents tend to hit him a lot. Junior talks about his older sister and his love for basketball. He talks about how he loves geometry class. One day the teacher (Mr.P) was giving out some textbooks to work on when he saw one that had his mothers name on it. That made him really mad because he realized that hes class was using a textbook that was almost 30 years old and that hes school was extreamly poor so he went crazy and he throwed the text book to Mr. P which got him on big trouble. He was suspended and forgived by his teacher. Eventually Junior manages to get his parents to change him of school to a "rich kids school" which the parents are able to get him on. They told him that the transaction wasnt going to be easy becuase of the friends and everything. The next day he tells rowdy taht he is changing of school to Reardan and he gets really really mad and punches him. This was everything important that happened to Junior in the first 7 Chapters.

“It sucks to be poor, and it sucks to feel that you somehow deserve to be poor. You start believing that you're poor because you're stupid and ugly. And then you start believing that you're stupid and ugly because you're Indian. And because you're Indian you start believing you're destined to be poor. It's an ugly circle and there's nothing you can do about it."

In this quote we can see how Junior thinks too much and how he dosent believe in himself. He needs to be proud about his race and who he is becuase at the end theres nothing you can do about it. He needs to think different in order to do something about his poverty.

“Everybody on the rez calls me a retard about twice a day. They call me retard when they are pantsing me or stuffing my head in the toilet or just smacking me upside the head.

I think he shouldnt listen to them because it dosent matter what people think about you. And if they physically abuse him then he should make something about it because its not ok.

As some final thoughts about Junior and his life as now i think that is pretty interesting and i just want to keep reading becuase i want to know what happens next in his life. I predict that he will do great at his new school and that he will do a lot of friends there. I also hope that someone finds how much talent Junior has with hes drawings. He is a good kid.

The very last one

Pj's amazing plan to stop the zombies from attacking the city was the following. The plan consisted on the three of the friends record like a voice note in Pjs camera and then throw it at the zombies to grab their attention. The voice note would be filled with words like Hey! Yes you come here! And stuff. When the zombies approach the camera they would start eating each other since they can't tell if your human because of their dumbness. When the time had come they started yelling at the zombies to caught their attention and then throw the camera. And it was happening, the plan was working perfectly but what the three of them didn't realized was that what were they going to do with the very last zombie!? The zombie managed to escape at the end but it wasn't long before Ian, pj and Kendra find the camp again and search help to the cops to get that one last zombie.

In this last chapters I find the following quote.

" I dropped the camera! And I never pushed the button!" "Oh no! I've ruin everything"

This was a part when Ian dropped the camera without hitting the button that was going to start playing the voice note. But luckily a dumb zombie grabbed it and hit the button.

Another quote that was interesting was this one.

"Are you out of your mind? No one just attacks a zombie, not even in the movies, not unless you are totally insane!"

This was the part when the last zombie escaped and Kendra thought it was her fault so she wanted to attack te zombie.

I really liked this book and I recommend it to anyone who likes drama books and scary ones, this book was the best.

Don't burn it!

In this chapters getting close to the end of the book some important things happened. While Kendra and Ian were following the path that get to the cave where Pj and O'Dea were some zombies find them but for some strange reason the zombies just couldn't pass trought the path, it was like a force field that the old lady had made. As they get ahead of the slow zombies they find in a side of the path a grave yard with stones in each one, in one of them seated a dream catcher which for some reason Ian couldn't resist to get. After Kendra told him to do not do it he still did and at first nothing happened but moments later the ground started moving, more zombies camed out of those graves and the most important, the path wasn't a force field anymore. They runed uphill to the cave and when they got there, there she was the old "witch" with some big sticks in her hand. Ian and Kendra still didn't know that she was good but they treated her bad demanding her friend Pj who was inside the cave. They threaten her that if she did t have him Pj they would burn the dream catcher which when the old lady saw she went nuts telling them that they made a horrible mistake and that consequences would come. After discussing and discussing they were here, the zombies had got there and pj appeared confused for the moaning of the zombies not knowing what to do with everyone yelling she dropped the dream catcher in the fire. In a matter of a second the zombies stopped mowing and the old lady yelled at Kendra what have you done! You've set them free. The zombies started running not walking clumsy like before, running! See that dream catcher was the only thing that kept the zombies to leave homeroom earth and now they were able to go anywhere they wanted. The "witch" was the one that created that for them to stay in this strange place that the people who died were made zombies. They had to came up with a plan to stop the zombies from getting to the city so they started brainstorming.

This is how a dream catcher looks like.

While reading I found this interesting quote about Ian and Kendra.

"You okay" "sorry just trying to help I didn't mean to grab you too hard"
She smiles bites her lips and says " that was....really......."
"It's okay" I tell her "I'm here" then I remember that I'm angry at her.

This is when a zombie tried to get Kendra but Ian grave her by the hips and pulled her and I don't know but I think they have like a crush on each other.

Another quote that caught my attention was the following.

I hold up the dream catcher "something tells me she'll give us everything we want and more if we threatened to destroy this.

This part is when they both were considering to threaten O 'dea which they did. I did t waned them to do that since I knew it wouldn't led to something good.

I'm really really exited to see how this next chapters are and I really want to know  what the plan to stop the zombies is. I hope everything works in that place because if not they're all In big trouble.

Run!

A lot of things have happened in this last chapters but I don't want to tell every detail so I'm going to make it short. After finding that diary who belonged to one of the people that disappeared it talked about how this old woman who was spying on the pine city dancers when they decided to stay in that cabin and it said a lot of weird things about her, calling her a witch, stealing their food and all those things . After reading some pages of this diary the three kids realized that the things that were happening to them were also happening to those people as the diary tells, such as that weird noise Ian had heard when the Lynx was going to attack him. After reading some pages one of them realized there was something out there in the woods. It was a human shape and the three of the kids got really scared but then they realized there was a lot more than one, that they were coming towards them and that they weren't humans. Pj Camden to the conclusion they were zombies and in fact they were. Apparently Pj knew a lot about zombies so he told Kendra to make a torch to scare them and in just a blink of an eye there were the zombies just meters away from the cabin so while Ian and Pj tried to stop them at the door Kendra tried to scare them by the window but it wasn't working at the end they couldn't he much longer so the zombies camed in and they made their way out screaming while pushing the zombies to get outside. As surprised as I was they did got out and after running away from the cabin for hours in the rain they stopped at a rock to rest but it wasn't long until a zombie camed, the three of them managed to not to scape but to kill the zombie by pushing an old tree towards the zombie, the zombie got crushed and they got saved. Before leaving Kendra noticed that the zombie had some type of ID in her neck like a collar. When she took it from the zombie it happened to be that the zombie they killed was one of the pine city dancers who disappeared and also the diary written. After talking and talking in the same place more zombies started approaching to them so they decided to go up the mountain so it would be more difficult for the zombies tiger them, Pj still had his ankle badly injured but that was their best option at the moment. While hiking up the mountain Pj was just getting his injury worse. At one point when they thought they were safe from the zombies but the zombies camed and they had to climb a huge rock that had branches in it so Kendra and Ian climbed it easily but Pj as hard as he tried he couldn't climb and as much as  Ian was telling him that he could he just couldn't because of his ankle. Pj falled and hurt his ankle even more, the zombies were approaching and Ian and Kendra needed to hide fast before the zombies knew were they were. Ian wanted to go down and help Pj but Kendra didn't let him. Couple of minutes past and when they both stopped hearing the noises of the zombies they both started crying. After Kendra calmed down Ian about the lost of his friend Kendra went to check the perimeter to check there were no more zombies and Ian went to see his dead friend. When he went down the rock Pj wasn't there and if the zombies didn't catch hem then where was he!? Ian found Pj little video camera which he was using to record this hole journey being lost in the woods. When he got it there was some strange footage the footage of someone dragging Pj by he's feet while he was knocked out by that fall. Ian was shocked and tremendously happy that he's friend was alive he called Kendra and they both realized that the person who had took him went on a path a secret one behind the rock. Things change when PJ wakes up to breakfast served by the old lady!! At that point I didn't trusted her but when they both had a long talk I ended up liking her. She cured Pj ankle and she was the one making those weird sounds while the Lynx tried to attack Ian and in other occasions  too! All this time that the three kids felted someone or something was watching them it was her! The old lady and when the pine city dancers said that someone was watching them in the window it was her! And calling her a witch they were wrong since she actually does real magic as a gift that she has and she used it to cure Pj! Pj was worried about his friends but they were all ready on their way to the old lady's cave. He knew cause the old lady had kind of seen it in her head. This chapters have been the best.

There was a really interesting part in the book which I really liked, it's the following.

"People!" I yelled "We're saved!"
"Wait," warns Ian
"The school must've sent a rescue team!" Y yell at Pj "See there's no need to panic"
"Kendra" says Ian, his face drained of all color, "I don't think that's a rescue team." He points out the window, his hands shaking. Pg 168

This is the point when the three kids are in the cabin and they realized those "people" weren't a rescue team but zombies, that's when Pj started saying all the things he knew about zombies, I really liked this part

There was another part that caught my attention and that I really liked, it's the following.

"My friends are still out there!" " we need to find them before the zombies do"
The old woman raises the two sticks over her head and hits them together three times TOK TOK TOK
"Sounds like your friend might not need our help" "They just find the path themselves. They're on their way." Pg207

This is the part when Pj wanted to o look for his friends but the old woman did he's magic and somehow knew they were on their way, I really liked this part because its the part when I realized that the sounds that the kids used to hear in the woods when something bad was happening.

For my final thoughts I just want to say I really enjoyed reading this last chapters since it felt like I was actually there with them and I also felt all the adrenaline all the fear and all. I think that when Ian and Kendra get to the old woman and to Pj their going to attack her because they still think she's a witch and everything.

Here's a picture of how I imagine the old woman.
